Pass check For The Kids Who Borns In Turkey

The Bulgarian Consulate and the Bulgarian Embassy no longer issue visas for the children of families who are Bulgarian citizens. Because the children of the family of a double citizen are counted as citizens also if they haven't EGN (Bulgarian citizenship number) and the Bulgarian Birth Certificate (Akt za rajdane). Parents who are Bulgarian citizens must get a passport or pass-check (one-page passport) to take their children to Bulgaria. Parents can apply for an pass-check application from the Bulgarian Consulate in the nearest province or from the Bulgarian Embassy in the province where they reside. For pass check application, Bulgaria ID number of the children (born in Turkey)  needs to be taken. A citizen who is a double citizen can get the child's citizenship number (EGN) and the Address Register in Bulgaria by contacting the municipality where he / she is attached. If the family doesn't have time to go to Bulgaria for this transaction, they can register their EGN and address by giving a proxy to our representatives in our office.

• Pass check validity period is usually 3 to 30 days.
• The application of the pass check to Bulgarian Consulates and to the Embassy of Bulgaria could be finalized between 1 week and 30 business days.

Taking a Bulgaria Birth Certificate

Frequently Asked Questions About Pass Check

I am a Turkish citizen, my wife is a double citizen of Bulgaria. Can we get a Bulgaria visa for our 6-month-old child?

• The children of Bulgarian citizens are considered citizens of Bulgaria even if they do not have an EGN (Citizenship Number) or Birth Certificate. Therefore, the Bulgarian Consulate or Embassy doesn't give visas. For your child, you need to take your child's citizenship number and address registered to Bulgarian Municipality that you belong to. After that, you can apply for pass check. If you do not have time, you can get these documents by giving proxy to our representatives in our Hermes Consulting office.

How many days will the pass check application result?

• Those who have never received a passport or received an EGN number and have filed their first application for the first time will take their application result of 1 week to 30 days.

How many days does the passport process of those who have a Biometric Bulgaria Passport and whose expiration is over?

• If your biometric Bulgarian passport with chip is expired and you want to buy a pass, your transactions will be completed within 1 -7 business days.

I haven't a birth certificate and bulgarian passport. I've to go to Bulgaria immediately. What am I supposed to do?

• You can apply for a Schengen Visa by contacting the Greek Consulate and go to Bulgaria. However, if Greece issues Schengen Visa as a single entry, Bulgaria may not receive you.

My son and I are citizens of Bulgaria. My wife/husband is a Turkish citizen. What is the road I need to follow to put him/her on Bulgarian citizenship?

• Your wife/husband has to live in Bulgaria for 5 years for get a Bulgarian citizenship or pass check. Then he/she can apply for citizenship. In other words, those who reside in Bulgaria in 55 months of 60 months can apply for citizenship. Applications for citizenship are concluded between 6 months and 1.5 years.

I am immigrant of 1989. I'm going to take my citizenship. I never got a passport. Do I need a visa to go to Bulgaria?

• For 1989 immigrants, the Bulgarian embassies or the Bulgarian Embassy don't issue visas as immigrants in Bulgaria aren't removed from citizenship.
