WHAT CAN BE DONE FOR OBTAINING BULGARIA VISA?

Ordinary passport holder seeking to travel to Bulgaria must obtain a Bulgarian visa before traveling.

Citizens of Republic of Turkey with Green Passport, Diplomatic Passport (Black) and Service (Gray) Passport, can travel to Bulgaria without a visa, provided that they do not exceed 90 (nine) days within 6 (six) months.

If you wish to obtain a Bulgarian visa, you will have to apply through the Bulgarian Consulate-authorized agencies and Tourism / Travel Agencies, as the application is not accepted directly by the Consulate.

BULGARIAN VISA

The Republic of Bulgaria has been a full member of the European Union (EU) since 1 January 2007. So if you are a passport holder in Bulgaria, you can travel to EU countries without a visa.

However, since Bulgaria is not yet a member of the Schengen Region, only with the Bulgarian visa you obtained from the Bulgarian Consulate, it is possible to travel to Bulgaria.

If you are applying for a Bulgarian visa, you must also have a Schengen visa so that you can travel to Schengen member countries.

If you have Schengen visas, you may have the right to travel to Bulgaria without a visa.

BULGARIA VISA APPLICATION

 The Bulgarian visa applications have not been accepted directly by the consulate since 1 January 2015 (except in exceptional cases). For this reason you must apply for a Bulgarian visa to travel to Bulgaria through the agencies authorized by the Bulgarian Consulate and visa centers and travel / tourism agencies.

BULGARIA VISA APPLICATION DOCUMENTS 

In order to apply for the Bulgarian visa, you are obliged to complete and submit the Bulgarian Visa Application form prepared by the consulate in addition to the documents requested by the consulate. The Bulgarian Visa Application Form is required to be accurate and complete in Turkish or Bulgarian and to be completed in support of your other documents.

 Bulgarian visa applicants must submit a Bulgarian visa request petition, along with other documents, to which you stated how you will meet your travel purpose, duration and travel expenses. Bulgarian visa procedures generally require documents that show your identity, your travel destination, your travel experience and your motivation to return to Turkey at the end of your trip. You will need to provide the documents to be used in the Bulgarian visa application in full and submit it to the institution for which you are applying for a visa application. It will be beneficial for the visa application that the documents are newly dated.

Old (blue) passports are not processed in Bulgaria visa applications. In addition, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the time of your planned stay, and your passport must include at least 2 blank pages in order to process your passport. Otherwise you will need to renew your passport before applying.

BULGARIA VISA FEE

The visa fee determined by the Bulgarian Consulate is approximately the same as EU member and Schengen member countries. EU member countries and Schengen member countries have set a consular fee of € 60 for visa processing. For the Bulgarian Visa, the fee to be paid to the Bulgarian Consulate is the same. However, this fee is only the cost of the visa fee. The service cost by Visa Centers is not included in this quantity.

HOW MANY DAYS THE BULGARIA VISA IS CONCLUDED?

The Bulgarian visa application is concluded within 5 working days if it does not correspond to the formal holidays of Bulgaria and Turkey or the consulate's intensive working periods. In order to avoid any disruptions in your travel planning, it will be useful for you to make your application 30 days before your planned travel date.

Attention!

Since the Consulate-General of Bulgaria in Istanbul only accepts visa applications for residents of the Istanbul Region, if you are residing in other regions of Turkey, you need to apply for a visa in Bulgaria as the nearest consulate to the territory. Edirne, Bursa and Ankara have Bulgarian Consulates.

Persons under the age of 18, who request the Bulgarian visa must apply for the application together with a parent / legal guardian.
